One way exit

Our car, ready for the Empty Quarter

Thijs finished his last working day in Al Jubail, Industrial City in Saudi Arabia today. It was hard to get in, it's just as hard to get out again.
He logged out from the company laptop, handed over the entrance pass, said goodbye to his boss, walked out of the company gate and picked up his exit visa (with permission to leave Saudi Arabia).
Lot's of points of no-return
"It feels scary while I thought I would expect to feel more relieved," he said to me.

As I am finishing our loose ends here in Bahrain, camping in my 4 bedroom suite (also known as our house), he will start our journey tomorrow. I regret we can't join him but with his exit visa processed, our visa to Saudi is cancelled...
He will start driving tomorrow through the Empty Quarter and the car is ready for the sandy ride with special surface protection.
The luggage is ready and Thijs will take 40 litres of water with him, just in case.

Have a safe trip Thijs. Drive safely, take it easy, listen to the BBC end enjoy your exit from Saudi.
Exiting Saudi means only one thing to us: you will be reunited with us. We can be a 'normal' family again...
