Logging out

Only 1 more week, two days and 57 minutes and we will be packing our container.
Only 2 weeks, four days and 23 minutes and Thijs will be done with his job in Saudi Arabia and only 3 weeks, 1 day, 17 hours and 23 minutes until we leave for our big journey back to the Netherlands.
This weekend was, as all the previous ones, packed until the last minute with errands and jobs. The motorbike has been picked up for transport, the car is back from the garage, the contractor, to renovate part of our house has been elected and confirmed, we cancelled our local bank account, changed some cash in Euro's and Dollars and Thijs has received his visa for Iran.

"Next weekend will be a lot less hectic", we keep telling each other, but the reality is that although our list is getting shorter and shorter, it is a hell of a job...

Onno has returned home after finishing his exams and we enjoy his company again.

Noëlle has ordered new glasses, the poor child now has -7.5 in her worst eye. She celebrated her birthday and farewell party yesterday in the mall, taking her friends out for lunch and Cinema.

Not on the program was the fact that Thijs'work-computer would crash and that I had a spinal relapse again at 5 minutes to 5 on Thursday. Back in bed with heavy painkillers that make me drowsy. But a good excuse to play around with Thijs new Tablet.
I was able to get up yesterday so I spend the afternoon with Thijs in the mall. We shopped, had coffee and at the end of the afternoon I was exhausted due to the heavy painkillers.

Last night, when the heat of the day disappeared, we did a short try-out with all our (empty) suitcases, sleepingbags, tents, etc. See how it would fit in the car.

Niels' old bedroom is now No-Go-Zone for the movers. Everything that needs to come with us on our trip, is now safely piled up there. During the move, I will lock the door to that room and put a note "DO NOT PACK, DO NOT ENTER!" Less subtle hints won't work, you need strong language once the movers come in. (believe me, we've been there...).

"It is going to be sooooo boring."said Onno today when he got in the car again, for the first time in months. "No, I know you don't mind," he continued, "You will be excited for the full 10.000 km, and I really do not get that at all..."
